Vegas Baby!

It's 6:23AM on the morning of Friday, December 30th.  Whitney, Jacob and Appleberry just called to let me know that they're about 20 minutes away from my Grandparent's house in Long Beach.  As soon as I get my stuff loaded up I'll take over for whoever drove my truck down from the Bay and we'll head East to Las Vegas, Nevada.  New Year's in Vegas!!!

California here I come!

It's time again for my annual Summer trip home.  These last few days have been pretty hectic.  There wasn't any available storage space anywhere in the library so I had to pack everything from the studio and move it all into my flat:

I managed to talk the Porters into helping me out with a van to transport it all ( THANK YOU! ).  I am almost done with my "personal" packing and it will be quite a relief once it's finished.  I'm going to stay up tonight doing some cleaning and making sure that I haven't forgotten anything.  I'm hoping that Virgin Atlantic will help me out since I have slightly more carry-on than I should, so my fingers are crossed.

I'll miss you Oxford.  See you soon Californian's.

Defpol feed updated

Just a quick note to let you all know that I've just updated my RSS feed.  The feed name has changed as well as the content.  The new feed will now also contain my latest flickr uploads and has been updated to show the latest content on my TypePad blog rather than my Blogger blog (phasing out).  Be sure to update your news readers appropriately.

Personal Update

Well I figured that after all of these various software and OS releases it is about time to do another little personal update.

Things have been going slowly as of late.  I think that I'm just really excited about going back home, for a short visit, in a little under 2 weeks.  It's been getting closer to departure time and the days seem to be getting longer and longer as the days tick by.  It also doesn't help that for some reason my lower RAM slot crapped out on me the other day and I'm stuck running on 256MB of RAM for the time being.  I can barely run more than two programs at a time (which really sucks!).

I've been out of the studio for the past three days due to some odd airborne particles that flew into both of my eyes the other day.  It was a windy day and sometimes (when you don't have your funky shades on) things can get in your eyes and they got in mine.  Everything was fine the rest of that day and all of the next.  When I woke up on the third day both of my eyes were sealed shut with "sleep".  I managed to pry them open, clean them, and found that both of my eyes were quite swollen.  They've slowly been getting better and I'm going to be heading back into work tomorrow.

So that's about it.  Nothing special to report on.  Bored of the house.  English women suck (nothing new there).

Oh, I may be doing a little bit of kite surfing before I get home.  Sebastian just bought a little 4 meter training kite and has offered to take me out to the cricket pitch to play around with it.  I'm looking forward to my first experience with kite surfing and just hoping that I don't have an experience like this.
